Ok i'm writing this quickly without too much thought; i'll keep cooking on it later
but i realize i literally don't have to do vibe coding
i can just talk about it and that's enough
i have the time to actually work through things by hand, and build up knowledge in the process (i.e theory building, see Peter Naur's programming as theory building paper)
it's a valid way of working, if you think about your knowledge of the program and the program's situation as valueable.
if you only care about the program, i.e to do a one-off task with an immediate one-time payoff, vibe coding it is actually the better approach generally
but for long lived valuable software, manually working through things and becoming a steward and pathfinder in the process, is actually worth slowing down the production of source code for
Hate coding!
Back in ungdomsskole I played lots of games and wanted to get into gamedev, so I joined the programming classes
Turns out coding wasn't my thing, I struggled with it and even what I could do would be boring for me
Olav carried all the group projects we did together, so thanks for my high grades hehe
To this day, I still love gaming and still want to work in the industry, so I chose a different path of concept and 3D art
We'll see where it brings me! And in the meantime I'll be watching where your passion will bring you, Mr Fosse
